SYMPTOMS

Chest pain/Angina

CHEST PAIN

Chest pain can have many causes, but when it’s related to your heart, it might occur during activities like walking. This type of pain is known as angina and is caused by the narrowing of your heart arteries. Risk factors for this condition include diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and a family history of heart problems. Additionally, other heart conditions, such as cardiac arrhythmias, can also cause chest pain. If you experience chest pain and have any of these risk factors, it's important to seek medical attention to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment.
Palpitations/Arrhythmia

PALPITATIONS

If you experience palpitations or sensations of your heart racing or skipping a beat, you may have a cardiac arrhythmia. This can feel like your heartbeat is strange, funny, or abnormal. Other symptoms that may accompany arrhythmia include chest pain, breathlessness, lightheadedness, or fainting. Arrhythmia is a disturbance of the normal heart rhythm and can range from being a benign nuisance to being more dangerous, especially if accompanied by fainting or blackout.
Fainting/Balckout

FAINTING/BLACKOUT

If you have fainted multiple times without a clear reason, it could be due to a heart condition. The most common cause of fainting is a simple faint, also known as vasovagal syncope. However, other heart conditions can also lead to fainting. These include having a heart rate that becomes excessively slow or fast. If you experience unexplained fainting, it is important to seek medical attention to determine if a heart condition is the underlying cause and to receive appropriate treatment.
High blood pressure

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is very common in the UK. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health issues such as heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and kidney failure. Even if you are on multiple medications, your blood pressure may remain high. Persistently high blood pressure can sometimes be caused by underlying issues, such as problems with the kidneys, adrenal glands, or aorta. Various tests can be conducted to identify the underlying cause and ensure effective management of your condition. If you have concerns about your blood pressure, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation and appropriate treatment.
